The lively and much-anticipated Milwaukee Night Market has made its return to downtown Milwaukee. Located on Wisconsin Avenue, between Second Street and Vel R. Phillips Avenue, the market opened its doors on Wednesday, June 14. Running from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., the event is scheduled to take place on several dates throughout the summer, including July 19, August 16, and September 13.

The Milwaukee Night Market offers an exciting blend of art, craft, and food vendors, accompanied by live art creation and local music performances. The market aims to provide vibrant, safe, and interactive space without any fee in downtown Milwaukee for people to immerse themselves in the city’s culture during the night.

The Milwaukee Night Market was purchased from NEWaukee in 2021 by the Westown Group, a non-profit business group focusing on the economic and social growth of the Westown area. NEWaukee, a local engagement organization, created the market in the summer of 2014 with the purpose of attracting diverse residents and tourists while transforming views of the area. The Milwaukee Night Market has developed greatly since its start, attracting over 100,000 visitors each year.

Nestled in the heart of the bustling Westown neighborhood, just west of the Milwaukee River, the downtown Milwaukee area offers a plethora of attractions, including the Historic Old World Third Street Entertainment District, the Milwaukee Riverwalk, and professional sporting events, ensuring visitors have a multitude of dining, entertainment, and hotel options.

The Westown Association just announced the vendor roster for the Milwaukee Night Market’s 2023 season, which is presented by Clover® from Fiserv. With over 180 local companies taking part in this summer event, West Wisconsin Avenue will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind setting for people of all ages and ethnicities to enjoy the finest of Milwaukee. Artists, restaurateurs, farmers, artisans, and other producers will be among the different exhibitors who will present their wares to an expected 30,000 people each night. To accommodate the increased interest, the event site has been enlarged to cover 2nd Street between Wells Street and Michigan Street, providing for an extra 20 vendor booths.

Stacie Callies, the Executive Director of Westown Association, expressed excitement about the overwhelming response from businesses wanting to participate in the 2023 Milwaukee Night Market. The curation team meticulously reviewed more than 450 vendor applications, aiming to feature as many businesses as possible that represent the city’s diversity. The result is a night market that promises something for everyone, showcasing and supporting local entrepreneurs while attracting thousands of attendees.

Sponsorship is critical to the functioning of the Milwaukee Night Market. For the third year, American Family Insurance is paying vendor fees for five entrepreneurs in each of the four areas. Their hiring procedure prioritizes ethnic diversity and gender equality. Beauty from the Root, BonBon Boba MKE, Brava Blooms & Bouquet Bar, Corazoncito Styles Boutique, and Rhubarb & Ice are among the five sponsored merchants.

Numerous community partners, including GRAEF, Gruber Law Offices, Miller Lite, 310W, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Joy Engine, The Avenue, and We Energies Foundation, are also sponsors of the 2023 Milwaukee Night Market. Further signature sponsors and partnerships will be announced at a later date. The Westown Association encourages potential sponsors to inquire about opportunities to support this fantastic event.

For those interested in attending the Milwaukee Night Market, the complete list of participating vendors can be found at mkenightmarket.com. While the vendor application deadline has passed, Westown is still accepting applications for the waitlist at mkenightmarket.com/applications.

The Milwaukee Night Market promises a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees. Don’t miss out on this vibrant celebration of Milwaukee’s local businesses and entrepreneurs.
