One of the arrested settlers, previously an aide to a far-right Israeli “Jewish Power” party legislator, faced detainment along with five others for questioning. The assailant’s affiliation with the coalition of ultranationalist and ultraorthodox parties under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has drawn scrutiny. The wounded settler, who was also apprehended, had allegedly sustained injuries during the tumultuous events.
