The Leisure and Hospitality sector dominates the top-ranking industries, with seven out of the 20 fastest growing industries belonging to this category. This sector’s resilience is evident as it recovers from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a lower baseline in 2021. On the other hand, the fastest declining industries face a challenging future. Tobacco Manufacturing leads this group, projected to witness a significant decrease of 53% in employment, bringing its workforce down to just 5,000 employees by the end of the decade. Automation, rather than waning smoking habits, seems to be driving this decline. CDs & Tapes Manufacturing is also expected to suffer a 51% reduction in employees by 2031.
