The pair survived on raw fish and rainwater after a storm disabled their catamaran’s electronics. Found in a precarious state, they received medical attention, food, and hydration. The captain of the Grupomar fleet vessel, Oscar Meza Oregon, brought them safely to the port of Manzanillo.
Tim Shaddock, 51, and Bella, his dog, departed from La Paz, Mexico, three months ago. A month into his journey, a storm struck his white catamaran, wiping out all electronics. He says he and Bella survived three months at sea, eating raw fish and drinking rainwater.
