Joe Lewis, the billionaire owner of Tottenham Hotspur, makes his first court appearance in New York to face 19 criminal charges, including securities fraud and conspiracy to commit securities fraud. He is accused of providing insider information to employees, associates, and romantic interests to facilitate trading and gifting hundreds of thousands of dollars for trades. The indictment reveals millions were made using the “stolen” information from clinical trials and other investments. Lewis maintains his innocence and pleads not guilty while awaiting trial.
