Idaho mother Lori Vallow Daybell has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after her conviction earlier this year for the murders of her two children and collaborating in Tammy Daybell’s murder, her husband’s first wife. In the tragic case, Vallow Daybell was given a life sentence for the murder of each child—16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow—as well as for conspiring to murder Tammy Daybell.

Her older brother,Colby Ryan lamented the loss of his siblings and the futures they were robbed of. The children were last seen in September 2019, and Tammy Daybell died the following month, with Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell marrying shortly after. It wasn’t until June 2020 that law enforcement discovered the children’s remains in Daybell’s backyard.

Chad Daybell is scheduled to be tried separately in April 2024 on conspiracy and evidence-related charges. Throughout the proceedings, the couple’s apocalyptic religious beliefs were highlighted, with prosecutors portraying them as religious figures who rated people as “light” or “dark.”
